Promethean Planet: Special Education Needs

Promethean users should take a few minutes to check out the Special Education Needs collection of tips and resources.  Geared for teachers who work with students with special needs, the strategies shared are reminders of best practices (for all students, not just those with special needs).  A couple of my favorites from the list:

  • Use the screen recorder to record instruction or an example of application so students can play the bite-size video any time as a reference or scaffold.  Also, a great assessment tool if teachers capture a student (or small group of students) completing an exercise.
  • Use the sound recorder to embed verbal directions in a flipchart – a nice alternative or reinforcement to written directions
  • Use the spotlight and reveal tool to focus attention

You’ll also find flipcharts and resource packs  to download and case studies.
